Summer Intern AI Clinic – July 7, 2025
Summer students, interns, and visiting faculty who are badged and working on-site at ORNL, are invited to participate in a one-day AI Clinic designed to explore how large language models can accelerate scientific research and summer projects. Working in interdisciplinary teams, participants will learn to engineer effective AI prompts tailored to their specific domains—from physics and computing to biology and energy systems. The clinic will focus on hands-on strategies for using models from OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google Gemini to boost productivity, spark innovation, and support real-world scientific problem-solving. Attendance is limited to 100 participants and is open to high school students through visiting summer faculty.
