2024 NCCS Virtual Career Fair
You are invited to attend the National Center for Computational Sciences (NCCS) Virtual Career Fair taking place Friday, November 8, 2024 from 1:00 pm ET to 3:30 pm ET.
Registration for this event is now closed.
The NCCS is hiring across a wide range of disciplines from computational and data scientists, system administrators, cyber security professionals, HPC support engineers, and more. We have positions that span senior professionals, mid-career, and recent college graduates. We also have a number of postdoc and student internship opportunities.
The NCCS, a division of the Computing and Computational Sciences Directorate at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), provides state-of-the-art computational and data science infrastructure for technical and scientific professionals to accelerate scientific discovery and engineering advances across a broad range of disciplines. As an important part of the broader High-Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructure, the division also hosts the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility (OLCF), a Department of Energy Office of Science User Facility. Each year the OLCF provides over 36 million hours of computer time to scientists and engineers.
The OLCF is home to two of the world’s fastest supercomputers—the Summit IBM AC922 and the Frontier HPE-Cray EX—supported by world-class data management and analysis tools. In May 2022, the OLCF debuted Frontier as the world’s first exascale supercomputer, achieving 1.102 exaflops. That performance was updated in May 2023 to 1.194 exaflops, making it No. 1 on the TOP500 list and faster than the next 4 supercomputers on that list combined. The OLCF’s Summit supercomputer, a 200 peftaflops system, debuted in June 2018, and in May 2023 Summit was still in the top 5 fastest supercomputers in the world.
As supercomputing technology continues to evolve, the OLCF is positioned to remain at the vanguard of high-performance computing on the international stage.
In addition, the NCCS fields supercomputers for other Federal Agencies like the U.S. Air Force and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
So, please join us to hear about all of the opportunities within the NCCS from internships to staff positions, learn more about our HPC infrastructure, and hear from some of the researchers making use of these resources to change the world.
