Kokkos 4.4 Release Briefing
The Kokkos Team is inviting you to the Kokkos 4.4 release briefing that will be held online on Tuesday, August 27th at 11am EDT / 9am MDT / 5pm CEST.
In this release briefing, we will provide updates on the Kokkos community, including:
- Kokkos now a Linux Foundation project
- Transition to develop as the default branch
- Kokkos 5.0 and C++20 requirement in the 2025 horizon
We will also go over what changed since 4.3 and answer questions.

Important changes include:
- New Kokkos::View converting constructor from and conversion function to std::mdspan
- Native Graph support for the SYCL backend
- Various deprecations and incompatibilities
- Potential program hangs with incorrect use of view of views
