Overview

The OLCF, in collaboration with HPE and AMD, is pleased to announce a (virtual) 4-day Frontier Hackathon during the week of March 4, 2024.

Dates:
Day 0: Monday, February 26, 3:00-4:00 pm Preparation, 4:00-5:00 pm Team Introduction presentations

Day 1: Monday March 4, 11:00 -11:15 am Welcome 11:15-5:00pm Hacking

Day 2 Wednesday March 6, 11:00 -11:15 am Group Discussion, 11:15-5:00pm Hacking

Day 3 March 7, 11:00 am-5:00 pm 11:00 -11:15 am Group Discussion, 11:15-5:00pm Hacking

Day 4: Friday March 8, 11:00 -11:15 am Group Discussion, 11:15-3:30pm Hacking, 3:30-5:00 Team Final presentations.

A few examples of past participants’ accomplishments:

• Accelerated their codes’ CPU kernels on the GPUs
• Converted significant sections of their application from CUDA to HIP or OpenACC to OpenMP Target Offload
• Profiled and significantly boosted their code’s performance on Frontier
• Improved I/O performance
• Found and fixed bugs
• Helped onboard new project members
• Generated their first roofline plot
• Received ideas for further improving performance

We have selected teams for this event.
