Containers let you package your application and its dependencies into a single image, giving you control over your software environment and making your workflows more portable and reproducible. On Frontier, containers run through the Apptainer runtime.

This tutorial covers the basics of building and running containers on Frontier, managing images, and using MPI and GPU resources in containerized applications. We’ll also walk through examples with LAMMPS and PyTorch. Hands-on sections are built into the session so you can practice as you go.

Open to all Frontier users — no prior container experience required.
