2017 OLCF Users Conference Call: Getting started with Adios: Part 2
The OLCF hosts monthly User Conference Call. These calls are your opportunity to speak with center personnel to get the latest updates, express any concerns you may have, etc. No registration is required for this event.
Monthly Topic: Getting started with Adios: Part 2
Speaker: Norbert Podhorszki, ORNL Computational Scientist
In this presentation we continue teaching how to use ADIOS for parallel I/O. In part 1 we showed how to write data to disk and how to use data compression. Part 2 will first focus on reading. We will look at Fortran/C and Python APIs to process data. Next we discuss the Query API that helps one to find the data of interest faster than reading in the whole huge dataset. Then we look at how two applications can share data without touching the disk, i.e. using staging. Without modifying those applications written for ADIOS file-based I/O, of course.
Finally, a roundtable. Since we have a whole hour this time, please come prepared with questions about how you could use ADIOS in your application.
