Monthly Topic: Preparing Applications for Summit: NUCCOR
Speaker: Micah D. Schuster, Ph.D., ORNL
Abstract: NUCCOR (Nuclear Coupled-Cluster Oak Ridge) is a programming package tailored to solving the nuclear many-body problem from first principles. Building a nucleus in this way while taking advantage of current and future architectures is a daunting task. This talk focuses on the design choices and strategies that we have implemented to achieve performant code on multi-GPU systems. In particular, we will discuss our choices involving the use of Object Oriented Fortran, custom CUDA kernels, and the use of
libraries such as cuBLAS.
