This proposal continues to support the ATLAS project within the DOE Office of Science. DOE has played a leading role in the discovery of the Higgs boson [1 ,2] at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) and continues leveraging it to advance the understanding of fundamental particles and forces. The Higgs is the final piece of the Standard Model (SM) of particle physics ending a 50 year search for SM particles. Yet, the model remains incomplete. It assumes massless neutrinos which have been shown to be massive [3 ] and does not explain the matter‑antimatter asymmetry in the universe [4 ] , dark matter and energy [5 ] , and gravity. Resolving these missing pieces of the SM will be the primary goal for the foreseeable future in HEP research as laid out by the HEPAP P5 report, “Building for Discovery,” [ 6 ].
