OLCF Hackathon: OpenACC
We are excited to announce OLCF’s first ever hackathon will take place the week of October 27th, 2014.
So what is this all about?
Teams of developers will attend a 5-day intensive hands-on workshop guided by OpenACC mentors. These experts come from labs, universities and vendors and will guide your team from start to finish. At the end of the week you’ll have something you can actually use!
What’s the format?
We’re looking for teams of 2-6 developers with a scalable** application to port to a GPU accelerator. Space will be limited to 4-6 teams. (** by scalable I really mean node-to-node communication implemented, but don’t be discouraged to apply if your application is less than scalable. We are also looking for breadth)
Ok, so how can I attend?
Entry period will stay open for only 2 weeks! The period opens August 15th and closes August 29th. Selected teams will be notified September 5th. Prior GPU experience is not required! See below how to apply!
What applications are you targeting?
No application specifically. We hope to have open-source community codes in need of porting individual modules. This is a great opportunity for grad students and post-docs.
Will there be prizes?
Besides your code running über fast on a machine like Titan? At the end of the event, we will divulge your amazing transformation to OpenACC expert for the world to see at the Supercomputing Conference and present your team with a certificate in front of your admiring fans.
