Open MPI is an open source implementation of the MPI standard (MPI1, MPI2 and following). It is highly configurable at compile-, installation- and runtime with many options to tweak the behavior to the systems- and your needs.



To use Open MPI on this system, please load the appropriate module file:

To load a specific version provide the actual library version:

module load ompi/1.7a1r22229

Upon loading the module, the common MPI-compiler wrappers mpicc, mpiCC, mpif77 and mpif90 are available.

The module will set the required environment variables to simply run applications, nevertheless, the user is encouraged to consult below documentation for further options, among them the ones given upon loading the modulefile:

Sets up environment to link and run with reference Open MPI.

Use mpicc/mpiCC/mpif77/mpif90 to compile the application. Please refer to man-pages for further information.

The default values are being set to run using:

mpirun -np XXX ./my_app
