The objective of this work is to understand chemical structures that would make efficient, green fire-fighting foams. These foams are comprised of surfactant films that form a layer of water onto a pool of burning fuel to extinguish the fire. The surface tension is a key indicator of the ability to form this interface required for the water layer.
