Tom first joined ORNL as a postdoctoral researcher in the Scientific Computing Group in 2015, where he worked as a developer of the astrophysics code FLASH. Afterward, he continued to work on-site at ORNL as a Solutions Architect for NVIDIA. In 2017, Tom joined the User Assistance & Outreach group as an HPC User Support Specialist / Programmer.

He received his PhD in physics from the University in Tennessee in 2015. His thesis work on Type Ia supernovae was based on simulations performed on OLCF resources (Titan). His interests are in computational astrophysics, nucleosynthesis, detonation theory, GPU programming, and teaching HPC skills to others.
