Background
Olga Kuchar is the group leader for Data Lifecycle Technologies in the National Center for Computational Sciences (NCCS). Her vision is to deliver accessible and collaborative computing facilities unifying data, algorithms, and computations via workflows in a scalable research platform resulting in an intuitive and performant environment for scientists.
Olga has a passion for data and pushing bleeding-edge technology into operation, supporting scientific breakthroughs while reducing cognitive overhead. As a data activist and altruist, she strives to empower users through the development of future research-and-analysis platforms. Her recent projects were the Department of Energy (DOE) Advanced Research Projects Agency – Energy (ARPA-E) Grid Optimization Competition (https://gocompetition.energy.gov) and the GRID DATA project DR POWER developing an open data portal for energy research (https://egriddata.org).
