Background

Nicholson Koukpaizan joined ORNL in June 2020 as a postdoctoral research associate in the Science Engagement section within the National Center for Computational Sciences. Prior to that, he obtained his PhD in Aerospace Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he worked on improved techniques for the numerical simulation of fluidic oscillators in aerodynamic flow control. He is currently a computational scientist with the Advanced Computing for Life Sciences & Engineering group.

Nicholson’s research interests include performance portability in high performance computing, computational fluid dynamics, and aerodynamic flow control.
