Background
Maria is an Administrative Assistant in the National Center for Computational Sciences Division. The groups she supports are Advanced Computing for Chemistry and Materials, and Advanced Computing for Nuclear, Particles, and Astrophysics. In this vital role, Maria handles various administrative tasks consisting of event planning, organizing meetings, purchasing, travel reservations, and arranging/ maintaining on-site or cyber access to ORNL.
Before working at ORNL, she worked in the medical industry in various roles from clerical to medical with eight years of experience, primarily in Pulmonology and Orthopedics. She has experience in medical assisting, insurance verification, and prior authorization. She thrives in a fast pace environment and has a passion for helping others. She looks forward to growing into her new role and helping her groups continue to succeed.
