Kevin is a Security Engineer at the Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility, joining the High Performance Computing Operations group in 2012. He is involved with security policy development, security operations, and security architecture as a part of the Cyber Security team. He is also a subject matter expert for the Splunk environment, which is used for system metrics and troubleshooting in addition to security information and event management, and has pivital roles in vulnerability assessment, incident handling, and policy development.

He is currently integrating netflow information with anomaly detection to score network traffic based on risk into the Splunk environment, as well as developing better vulnerability assessment and management, and security metrics visualizations for the Supercomputing enclave

Kevin holds a bachelor’s degree in information systems with a cyber security concentration from Strayer University, and an associate’s degree in contemporary management from Roane State Community College. He also holds industry certifications such as Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer, GIAC Penetration Tester, GIAC Certified Incident Handler, and GIAC Critical Controls Certification , and ISC2’s Certified Information Systems Security Professional.
