*** CENTER ANNOUNCEMENTS ***
USER ASSISTANCE CENTER SCHEDULE
The User Assistance Center will be closed on Monday, January 15 due
to an ORNL-observed holiday. The normal user assistance schedule
(weekdays 9 AM – 5 PM Eastern Time) will resume on Tuesday, January
16. NOTE: The ORNL Computer Operations staff will still be available
for limited troubleshooting 24 hours a day.
NEW SOFTWARE AVAILABLE ON TITAN
New versions of software have been installed on Titan and will be
set as default on January 16 unless issues are reported. Users
are encouraged to use the new versions and report issues to
help@olcf.ornl.gov. To view a list of the new software versions,

ASCR LEADERSHIP COMPUTING CHALLENGE (ALCC) CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The 2018 Call for Proposals for the ALCC program is now open.
Open to scientists from the research community in industry,
academia, and national laboratories, the ALCC program allocates
up to 30% of the computational resources at the OLCF for special
situations of interest to the Department’s energy mission, with an
emphasis on high-risk, high-payoff simulations. Applications are
due on February 1, 2018 at 11:59 PM EST.

GETTING STARTED AT OLCF WEBINAR (JAN 10)
The next OLCF Getting Started Webinar will be held from 1:00 PM
until 2:30 PM on Wednesday, January 10. This webinar covers the
basics you’ll need to get up and running on OLCF resources. It
is geared especially for new users, but it may serve as a good

*** SCHEDULED OUTAGES THROUGH JANUARY 19 ***
The general-purpose login servers (home.ccs.ornl.gov), Data
Transfer Nodes (dtn.ccs.ornl.gov), license manager servers
(flex[1-4].ccs.ornl.gov) and Rhea will be unavailable beginning
at 8:00 AM on Thursday, January 11. Home and Flex servers will
return at 10:00 AM, while the DTNs and Rhea will remain unavailable
until 8:00 PM.
