*** CENTER ANNOUNCEMENTS ***
USER ASSISTANCE CENTER SCHEDULE
The OLCF User Assistance Center will be closed on Monday,
January 1 due to an ORNL-observed holiday. The normal user
assistance schedule will resume on Tuesday, January 2. Note
that ORNL Computer Operations staff will still be available for
limited troubleshooting (such as login issues) 24 hours a day.

OLCF ACCEPTING PROPOSALS FOR THE SUMMIT EARLY SCIENCE PROGRAM
The Call for Proposals for the Summit Early Science Program is now
open. More information about the call can be found on the OLCF web
page at https://www.olcf.ornl.gov/summit-early-science/. Note that
a letter of intent is required, and due on December 31.

NEW SOFTWARE AVAILABLE ON TITAN
New versions of software have been installed on Titan and will be
set as default in early January unless issues are reported. Users
are encouraged to use the new versions and report issues to
help@olcf.ornl.gov. To view a list of the new software versions,

ASCR LEADERSHIP COMPUTING CHALLENGE (ALCC) CALL FOR PROPOSALS
The 2018 Call for Proposals for the ALCC program is now open.
Open to scientists from the research community in industry,
academia, and national laboratories, the ALCC program allocates
up to 30% of the computational resources at the OLCF for special
situations of interest to the Department’s energy mission, with an
emphasis on high-risk, high-payoff simulations. Applications are
due on February 1, 2018 at 11:59 PM EST.

PASC18 CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS
The Platform for Advanced Scientific Computing (PASC) is pleased
to announce that submissions are open for the PASC18 Conference,
co-sponsored by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM).
Submissions are invited for papers, mini-symposia and poster
presentations. PASC18 will be held from July 2 to 4, 2018, at the
Congress Center Basel, Switzerland. For more information, please

is geared especially for new users, but it may serve as a good
