NOMINATIONS FOR OLCF USER GROUP EXECUTIVE BOARD
Nominate yourself to run for the OLCF User Group Executive Board. If elected, you will serve on a 10-person board who provide advice and feedback to the OLCF on the current and future state of OLCF operations and services. The term of service for the successful candidates is three years. Elections will be held electronically during the user meeting. Nomination will take place through May 4th. MEETINGS & WORKSHOPS

HPC BEST PRACTICES WEBINAR (APR 18)
The next HPC Best Practices Webinar, “Software Citation Today and Tomorrow”, will be presented from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 18 by Daniel S. Katz of NCSA and the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. The webinar will discuss the history of software citation in scholarly communications, its current state, and future plans. The discussion will include identifying obstacles to progress and ways in which they may be overcome.

OLCF USER CONFERENCE CALL (MAR 28)
Thanks for joining us for the March OLCF User Conference Call, which included a discussion of the Arm MAP profiling tool led by Nick Forrington of Arm. There were no slides, but the call video will be uploaded to the call’s event page.

2018 GPU HACKATHONS: UNIVERSITY OF COLORADO-BOULDER (JUN 4-8)
The University of Colorado – Boulder is hosting a GPU hackathon from June 4-8, 2018. The deadline for applications is April 14, 2018, so apply soon.

We are looking for teams of 3-6 developers with a scalable application to port to (or optimize on) GPU accelerators. These events are intended to teach new GPU programmers how to leverage accelerated computing in their own applications, and to help existing GPU programmers to further optimize their codes.

2018 OLCF USER MEETING (MAY 15-17, 2018)
Registrations are now being accepted for the 2018 OLCF User Meeting, which will be held at Oak Ridge National Laboratory on May 15-17, 2018. For more information on the meeting or to register, please visit https://www.olcf.ornl.gov/calendar/2018-olcf-user-meeting/.

PERFORMANCE PORTABILITY WITH KOKKOS (JUL 24-27)
The OLCF will host an on-site Kokkos training event organized by the Exascale Computing Project (ECP) on July 24-27, 2018. This training will cover the minimum required topics to get your application started on using Kokkos. Please see the event page for more details.
