MEETINGS & WORKSHOPS
OLCF USER CONFERENCE CALL (JUL 25)
The July OLCF User Conference Call will be held at noon (Eastern Time) on Wednesday, July 25. The call will include an overview of OLCF’s new Python infrastructure by Matt Belhorn. Details of the call, including information on how to join, can be found on the event page.
OLCF GPU HACKATHON: CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
The OLCF is pleased to announce that team applications for the OLCF GPU Hackathon are now being accepted. This event will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (in downtown Knoxville, TN) from October 22-26, 2018. The deadline to apply is July 27, 2018. Whether you are initially porting your application to run on GPUs or you have a GPU-capable code that needs optimization, this event is a good opportunity to put in a 5-day push toward your goal. If your team is selected, you will be paired with experienced mentors who will help with your development efforts throughout the week. For more information or to apply, visit the Hackathon page.
SCORE-P/VAMPIR WORKSHOP (AUG 17)
The Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility (OLCF) will host a workshop on August 17, 2018 to show users how to profile applications using Score-P and Vampir. These two tools are usually used together; Score-P is used to collect performance data from an application and Vampir is then used to visualize the data. The workshop will begin with presentations to introduce the Score-P and Vampir tools as well as some demonstrations on using them. Afterward, there will be a hands-on session where participants will be given an example application to profile or they can profile their own applications. The workshop will be led by OLCF’s Ronny Brendel. The deadline to register is August 7, 2018. For more information or to apply, please visit the event page.
