USER ASSISTANCE CENTER SCHEDULE
The User Assistance Center will be closed on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 due to ORNL-observed holidays. The normal user assistance schedule will resume on Monday, December 2. NOTE: The ORNL Computer Operations staff will still be available for limited troubleshooting 24 hours a day.

BEST PRACTICES FOR HPC SOFTWARE DEVELOPERS WEBINAR (DEC 11)
The IDEAS Productivity project, in partnership with the DOE Computing Facilities of the ALCF, OLCF, and NERSC and the DOE Exascale Computing Project (ECP) has resumed the webinar series on Best Practices for HPC Software Developers, which we began in 2016. As part of this series, we offer one-hour webinars on topics in scientific software development and high-performance computing, approximately once a month. The next webinar is titled Building Community through xSDK Software Policies, and will be presented by Ulrike Meier Yang (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory) and Piotr Luszczek (The University of Tennessee, Knoxville). The webinar will take place on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 1:00 pm ET. See the webinar page for more info.
AMD ROCm HIP PORTING TUTORIALS DURING SC19
AMD’s Frontier Center of Excellence is providing training sessions on porting CUDA applications to ROCm with HIP during the week of SC19. These sessions will be held in the Banquet Room of Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery at 1001 16th St. Unit A-100 in Denver. There are three available sessions:
– Tuesday, Nov 19 from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM (Mountain Time)
– Wednesday, Nov 20 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM (Mountain Time)
– Thursday, Nov 21 from 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM (Mountain Time)
