Center Announcements
RHEL 8 Upgrade on Summit (Jun 8-10)
Summit will be unavailable from 8:00 AM on Tuesday, June 8 until 8:00 AM on Thursday, June 10. During this time the OS will be upgraded to RHEL 8. Software changes related to this upgrade (both the available modules and the default versions) are noted on the Software News page. Following the outage, you will likely need to recompile before running on the upgraded system. If you have any questions or concerns about this upgrade, contact the User Assistance Center at help@olcf.ornl.gov.
E4S Software Stack @ OLCF
The Extreme-scale Scientific Software Stack (E4S) is now available on Summit. The E4S project, supported by the US Department of Energy Exascale Computing Project (ECP), provides from-source builds and containers of a large collection of HPC software packages. Details about the software packages included in the E4S project, can be found at https://e4s-project.github.io/Resources/ProductInfo.html. For information on accessing E4S packages at the OLCF, please see https://docs.olcf.ornl.gov/software/e4s.html.
2022 INCITE Call for Proposals
The 2022 Innovative and Novel Computational Impact on Theory and Experiment (INCITE) Call for Proposals is now open and closes June 18.
The INCITE program seeks proposals for high-impact, computationally intensive research campaigns in a broad array of science, engineering, and computer science domains. The program promotes transformational advances in science and technology through large allocations of computer time and supporting resources at the Argonne and Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facilities operated by the DOE Office of Science. INCITE is open to researchers from all institutions, including academia, industry, and government agencies.
INCITE is also devoting 10% of its allocatable compute time to a new Early Career Track, which aims to encourage the next generation of HPC researchers by focusing on principal investigators who are within 10 years of earning their doctorate degrees (on or after December 31, 2011).
